Hey, I’m Karen — a former QA engineer turned full-stack developer. After over a decade spent breaking things to make them better, I now build web apps that are functional, intuitive, and beautiful from the start. I thrive at the intersection of empathy and engineering: where user experience meets system logic.
I specialize in front-end development with an eye for clean, accessible design — but I also enjoy digging into APIs, databases, and backend flows. Whether I’m sketching wireframes in Figma or writing scalable React components, I care deeply about creating seamless experiences that make users feel considered.

Group travel planner that builds itineraries based on votes

- Planning group travel is chaotic — differing preferences, disjointed tools, and endless back-and-forth.

- Itinera.IO streamlines group trip planning by letting friends vote on destinations and activities. It builds an itinerary everyone agrees on — democratically and effortlessly.

Achievement
3rd Place Hackaton winner
I joined Team Liquid Logic to compete in the San Joaquin County H20 Hackathon, where we tackled a challenge focused on sustainable water usage. Our goal was to design a solution that helped households upgrade to more efficient appliances—within their budget and with clarity.
Over a fast-paced weekend, I participated in the ideation, feature design, and UI prototyping in Figma. We built a web app prototype that blended AI-driven guidance with real-time data to empower users.
Our Idea:
- Barcode & Image Scanner
- Detects home appliances to assess water usage and efficiency scores.
- AI Chatbot
- Conversational assistant offering upgrade tips and answers.
- Savings Dashboard
- Real-time visualizations of potential water + cost savings.
- Rebate Engine
- Personalized upgrade plans with incentives based on budget.
Out of 25+ teams, we proudly took home 3rd Place. It was a proud moment that reinforced my passion for meaningful, practical tech.
